Washington, DC - With the November elections just around the corner, the push for gender equality is critical to fulfilling the democratic ideals of freedom and justice. The ERA Coalition’s Elect Equality campaign, launched this July, is urging voters to prioritize candidates who support the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) and gender equality.

The Equal Rights Amendment is key to enshrining gender equality in the U.S. Constitution, offering a powerful tool to protect rights and prevent future setbacks, such as the alarming loss of bodily autonomy in recent years.

The ERA Coalition, which represents over 300 partners and more than 80 million people, has made it easy for voters to stay informed. At electequality.org, voters can access the positions of all Senate and House candidates on the ERA, covering every state and political party.

Elect Equality is designed to highlight candidates who stand for gender equality. Candidates showing strong support for the ERA through their voting records or public commitments are awarded a checkmark, but those demonstrating an exceptional commitment to advancing gender equality receive the exclusive designation of ERA Certified.

The ERA Certified designation is a powerful marker of a candidate’s dedication to equality. Certified candidates will be promoted to the ERA Coalition’s expansive partner network and social media platforms, and they will have access to a certification badge to showcase their support on campaign materials.

This election season, gender equality is on the ballot. Find out which candidates have earned the ERA Certified distinction and how you can make an impact by visiting: https://eracoalition.org/electequality/what-does-it-mean-to-be-era-certified/.

We are proud to announce our second batch of ERA Certified candidates including sitting members Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (NY)  Senator Jon Tester (MT), Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), and Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04) The ERA is essential for safeguarding our fundamental rights from the whims of political change.
