Washington, D.C. — Tomorrow, December 10, at 11:00 AM ET, Congresswoman Cori Bush will hold a press conference joined by The Feminist Front, the Young Feminist Party, and the ERA Coalition at the House Triangle. Together, they will issue an urgent call to President Joe Biden to publish the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, emphasizing the critical importance of gender equality and the need for decisive action.

The press conference is part of an all-day mobilization dedicated to advancing the ERA, featuring legislative action, a symbolic relay for equality led by Publish Equality, and a public rally uniting advocates from across the country.

Details of the Press Conference:

  • Date: Tuesday, December 10, 2024
  • Time: 11:00 AM ET
  • Location: House Triangle

“We are here to finish what generations before us started,” said Sophia Armen from The Feminist Front. “Equality under the law should not be a question—it should be a guarantee.”

“The ERA isn’t just about closing the chapter on inequality—it’s about rewriting the future,” said Rosie Couture, from the Young Feminist Party. “This is our moment to demand what’s overdue: a Constitution that reflects the values of equality and justice for everyone. No more delays, no more debates—it’s time to act.”

The ERA has met all constitutional requirements, with 38 states ratifying the amendment. Despite this, procedural delays have left the ERA in limbo. Tomorrow’s action aims to reignite momentum and ensure the ERA’s rightful place in the Constitution.

  • Relay for the ERA at 12 pm ET: A march led by Publish Equality, representing decades of advocacy.
  • Rally from 3 pm to 4 pm ET: A public demonstration of unity and determination featuring voices from grassroots organizations and community leaders

“We are coming together to say loud and clear: the time for gender equality is now,” said Zakiya Thomas, President & CEO of the ERA Coalition. “The Equal Rights Amendment has been ratified, and it’s time for everyone to recognize it as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution. This fight is about justice, dignity, and fairness for all.”
