Welcoming February 2022’s Newest Partners in Collaboration with the ERA Coalition

The ERA Coalition, an organization led by women of color, represents millions of people and more than 200 allied organizations whose common mission is to see the Equal Rights Amendment ratified and implemented within the United States Constitution. As we continue our fight towards the constitutional protections of those on the account of sex, many new companies, businesses, individuals, and organizations have followed suit and joined forces to become members alongside the ERA Coalition. As a show of our gratitude and continued support, we would like to take a moment to spotlight our newest members this month.

This month’s member highlights include Peace Over Violence, Black Women’s Agenda Inc., and The Ruth Project!

Peace Over Violence

Peace Over Violence is a nonprofit, multicultural, community-based and volunteer-centered organization dedicated to building healthy relationships, families, and communities that are free from sexual, domestic, and interpersonal violence. They provide crisis intervention services and violence prevention education, counseling, supporting, guiding, and working to heal survivors of violence. Peace Over Violence has a grassroots origin revolving around volunteer contributions, and is present in the streets, schools, hospitals, and courts. They have partnered with the ERA Coalition to work in an intersectional manner to best ensure safe and equal futures for current and coming generations through the implementation of the Equal Rights Amendment within the U.S. Constitution.

Black Women’s Agenda Inc.

The Black Women’s Agenda Inc. is devoted to advancing, securing, and protecting the rights of the disproportionate number of Black women that are represented within statistics related to both poverty and the lack of access to economic and educational opportunity. The women of BWA strive to acquire greater understanding and cooperation about issues that affect all women and their families, while searching for new knowledge and new conceptualizations about said problems. Through the establishment of social priorities, Black Women’s Agenda facilitates discussions that lead to effective policies and meaningful change. Their continuous vigilance regarding issues affecting Black women worldwide empower women to step up and mitigate the gender gaps that affect women in our society. Black Women’s Agenda is partnering with the ERA Coalition to finally ensure, explicitly, the rights of all women in the United States as bound by the U.S. Constitution through the publication of the Equal Rights Amendment.

The Ruth Project

On September 18, 2020, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an inspiration for so many, passed away. That same night, the Ruth Project was founded from a burning need to continue Ginsburg’s revolutionary fight for gender equity. The Ruth Project started as part of a dress code reform movement in Seminole County, Florida. They heard so many voices of young people suffering from inequity during this initiative, and knew that the fight was bigger than just Seminole County. The fight is everywhere. Since September 2020, they have expanded, gaining over 200 members in 15+ countries in just a year! Their mission is to use youth voices to rectify gender inequity in policies across the world.
